Regulations have increasingly infringed local autonomy.
The New York State Board of Regents have passed education requirements irrespective of local demographics and continue to constantly subject our children to numerous testing measurements.
I believe that many children can achieve success without college through trade schools, apprenticeships, work programs, BOCES and P-Tech programs.
I will work to reduce the inequities in the State Aid funding formula for our schools.
I will work to increase broadband access in our rural areas to enable schools and families to take advantage of the latest technologies available to increase learning opportunities through shared resources.
State Regulatory bodies have enacted regulations that effect the ability of property owners to enjoy their homes and expand and improve their businesses.
I will work to ensure that regulations do not infringe upon the ability of local communities to increase economic development.
Public benefit corporations are used to finance major public works projects throughout New York State. While many of these projects benefit our citizens, these corporations account for almost 90% of New York State debt, and are not subject to the same purchasing guidelines required of State agencies and local governments.
I will work to reduce the number of public benefit corporations and reduce waste, fraud, and abuse within these organizations.
