Issue Position

Shevrin Jones understands that everyone makes mistakes, and he believes that everyone deserves a second chance at getting it right. Shev believes that Florida has created a system that makes former offenders serve twice -- when they are in jail and when they get out -- this is not fair, and Shev Jones will continue to fight for our past offenders.

SHEVRIN JONES WILL CONTINUE TO:
* Fight for rights to be restored to those individuals who have served their time.
* Work to ensure that our past offenders have access to good paying jobs when they are released from prison.
* Fight to "Ban the Box" -- past offenders should not have to be asked this question on job applications and/or college applications.
* Work with law enforcement to create better police and citizen relationships in our communities.
* Support de-escalation training for law enforcement.
* Support adult civil citation programs across the state, in every agency.
