Wisconsin has one of the best education systems in the country, thanks to our great teachers and schools. However, we must continue to look for ways to improve and reform education to help every student succeed in the workforce and in life.

In the 2017-2019 state budget, we invested a record amount in K-12 schools in actual dollars. We are also ensuring that every student has access to a computer or laptop by creating one-to-one technology grants. Our efforts to help students succeed don't end at the elementary school level.

We also want to keep college costs in check. Once again I supported the tuition freeze for Wisconsin undergraduate students in the UW System. Over the last four years, the tuition freeze has saved the average student more than $6,000.
