In a recent study, Idaho's strong economy was attributed to its very diverse agricultural base. With $7.2 Billion in cash receipts, Idaho ranks 4th in the U.S. for agricultural products. The author compared Idaho to some neighboring states, who rely on tourism and energy as an economic base, touting agriculture and associated agribusiness as its great economic foundation. We must seek ways to enhance agriculture through exports and deregulation.
