Promoting economic growth that benefits everyone in the 74th District will increase our tax base without raising taxes, and create a more prosperous income base for all. Dan is already working to bring vocational training to the 74thfor those who want a good job with a sustainable income, and worthwhile benefits. The good paying jobs coming with revitalization in Coatesville should go to area residents. As should the jobs that repairing our failing infrastructure will bring. The Route 30 bypass, and many local roads and bridges continue to fall into disrepair, and are patched up only when they reach a critical point.
We need to start truly fixing our infrastructure, instead of applying band-aids here and there when they become extremely unsafe or unusable. One thing I'd like to see done soon is to extend the entry ramp to the Route 30 bypass East from Route 82 North. The short ramp creates a dangerous merge into fast moving traffic that has a difficult time seeing someone who is merging in until the last minute. The ramp should be extended another 1,000 feet or more for safer merging. There are of course many other things across the 74th District that should be remedied -- from roads that need repaving, to bridges that need repair, to simply properly filling some of our worst potholes. I'm not going to promise we'll be able to remedy all of these issues immediately. That would be unrealistic. But, as your State Representative, I will seek input from all in the community to set priorities on fixing our infrastructure and work hard in Harrisburg to fix what we can, as we can.
