School legislation requires a great deal of give and take. The Kansas Supreme court decision in '03 has been a disaster for tax payers and for the budget. There's no rational way to declare Kansas schools "unconstitutional" when we spend MORE than most states, and are in the middle of national school funding. This is judicial activism at its worst. Many states like Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri have ruled that the legislature is the only logical branch of the government to make such a decision. I support efforts to bring this to a vote of the people, and take it out of the hands of the court.
