Kansas does not prohibit housing, employment, public accommodations, school anti-bullying, education, transgender healthcare and conversion therapy discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. This year, Kansas Governor Colyer, signed SB 284. This law specifically discriminates against the LGBTQ community. It allows private religious-based adoption agencies to exclude prospective LGBTQ foster or adoptive parents with the backing of taxpayer funds. I will focus on efforts to reverse this discriminatory law. I will fight to protect the rights, dignity and lives of the LGBTQ community.
