In 2011, I worked hard to pass the Voter ID bill to promote and ensure honest and fair elections in our state. Studies show that photo ID requirements boost voter confidence and participation and prevent voter fraud. (Remember ACORN?) Over 70% of the voters in North Carolina support Voter ID, but Governor Perdue sided with President Obama and vetoed the bill. Veto Over-ride is pending.
