I'm grateful for our military to whom we owe our freedom. And by military, I mean the people -- the veterans, active duty service men and women and their families -- who have sacrificed for the benefit of our society. My grandfather was a veteran of World War II and one of the most important people in my life. My beloved father-in-law retired after 27 years in the military, and I know the challenges in being a military family. No individual serving his or her country should ever have to want for anything -- healthcare (including counseling) education or decent housing. They fought for us, now it's our responsibility to fight for them.
