I don't sit on the sidelines and idealize the perfect solution or tweet a 140-character cliché. When I identify a problem, I take action and I lead with my heart. That is why I co-founded LO for LOve when racism took hold of the Lake Oswego community after the 2016 presidential election.
Equity and inclusion is not an afterthought for me. It's the lens upon which I make most of my decisions. At every stage of public policy development, I consistently call the question: Whose voice is not represented or being heard? Then I take the initiative to reach out to those not at the table.
