As a state we need to take a look at the best ways to both identify the mental health concerns and address them. The system is very fragmented and this has caused many breakdowns in providing the best and most effective treatment. We need to find a system that is less fragmented by the payment policies that create disparities in access to appropriate care and creates systemic barriers to prevention, treatment and recovery services needed. This also includes substance abuse as well which is at an all-time epic high due to an increase in Opioid addictions and abuse.
