Our veterans have fought for us, and we should fight for them. Across our great state, veterans are giving back to Tennessee through their leadership in local schools, businesses, churches, and public service. These great men and women are an invaluable asset to our state, and whether it is economic development, education, or healthcare, they need to be a part of the conversation. While Congress works to fix and modernize the V.A., we need strong advocates for the over 500,000 veterans here in Tennessee. It's time we reevaluate our budget priorities and invest in a system that gets our veterans and their families the benefits and services they earned defending our country.
As governor, I will lead a dialogue about making Tennessee the number one state for veterans to live and work. To help me start that dialogue, I've brought together a team of Tennessee veterans, because the best way to find out what our veterans need is to ask them.
