Susie Lee Campaign Calls for Debates in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District

Statement

Date: June 22, 2018
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Issues: Elections

Today, the Susie Lee campaign called for a pair of televised debates in the 3rd Congressional District between Democratic nominee Susie Lee and perennial Republican candidate Danny Tarkanian.

The Lee campaign outlined its proposal as follows:

A pair of up to 60-minute televised debates should take place between Susie Lee and Danny Tarkanian between October 1 and October 19, when voters are most engaged with the campaign but before early voting begins.
At least one of the debates should be hosted or co-hosted by a Spanish language TV network.
The debates should be moderated by qualified journalists with experience moderating general election debates in Nevada.

The Lee campaign made the following statement: "Nevada voters deserve the opportunity to learn more about the stark contrasts between Susie Lee and Danny Tarkanian. While Susie Lee has spent her career rolling up her sleeves and getting real results for families in our community, Danny Tarkanian has spent his time helping to set up shady telemarketing scams, getting bailed out by taxpayers to the tune of $16 million for failed business schemes, endlessly running losing political campaigns, and raising a constant series of ethical questions in his financial dealings. The choice will be clear for voters in the fall."

Susie Lee is the Democratic nominee in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District. She is a longtime education advocate and nonprofit leader with over 20 years of experience serving Nevada students and families and obtaining real results that improve people's lives.
