Issues: Senior Citizens Entitlements and the Safety Net

Introduced legislation to repeal the unfair Medicare Part B Late Enrollment Lifetime-Penalty on our seniors (H.R. 1845). Consistent support to preserve and protect Medicare and Social Security. Voted in support of legislation to ban Congress from borrowing taxpayer dollars in the Social Security Trust Fund and using these funds to pay for other federal programs (H.Res. 5). Fought to keep the Medical Expense Deduction during tax reform discussions which is critical to many seniors in the district. The deduction was successfully retained in the final tax plan.
