Today, JB Pritzker released the following statement condemning the FCC's decision to end net neutrality and in support of HB 4819:
"With net neutrality ending nationwide today, we must double down on our efforts to keep the internet open, fair, and free in Illinois," said JB Pritzker. "I strongly support HB 4819 and urge the General Assembly and the governor to act quickly and protect consumers. Five states have already enacted their own laws or executive orders to preserve net neutrality, and dozens more are considering similar legislation. Illinois should be a leader and make it clear to internet service providers that they can't dictate the rules as our families pay the price. I will do everything I can as governor to protect net neutrality -- our democracy depends on it."
