Bruce Rauner's "ballooning deficit" increased 52% in FY 17 to an astonishing $14.6 billion. In response, JB Pritzker released the following statement:
"Bruce Rauner destroyed our state's credit rating, wasted $1 billion in taxpayer dollars on late fees and interest, and skyrocketed the budget deficit," said JB Pritzker. "This failed governor forced our state through a 736-day budget crisis, and Illinois taxpayers are paying the price and getting nothing in return. Over a million Illinoisans saw their services slashed by Bruce Rauner because he refuses to take charge of our state. This is what happens when a governor fails -- state finances are wrecked and people get hurt."
