Congressman Biggs issued the following statement regarding the stalled Senate deliberations on border security and immigration reform:
"Today, Democrats objected to debating amendments on legislation regarding sanctuary cities. This objection came on the very first amendment offered and shows, once again, that their party is more concerned with using immigration as a political wedge. The American people gave President Trump and this Congress a mandate to build the wall and fully secure the border--and we must do just that-- before considering any other immigration legislation. Because of the Senate's lack of courage to take tough votes and their outdated filibuster rules, we have done neither. Time is running out, and all Americans will be affected by our decisions and delays."
