Cotton Statement on the Pentagon's Decision to Retain Cluster Munitions

Statement

Date: Dec. 4, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the decision by the Pentagon to retain its supply of cluster munitions:

"I commend the administration for making a difficult, but prudent decision to preserve cluster munitions to deter North Korean aggression, as I have long contended was necessary. It's a disappointing commentary on 25 years of failed policy, yet a clear sign to Pyongyang and Beijing that U.S. policy has changed."
