To have a growing, diverse, and inclusive, 21st-century economy, we must respect the rights of all people to live, love, and worship, as they desire. The diversity of who we are, where we've come from, and how we worship is what makes us stronger as a nation. In 1987, I took an oath "to protect and defend the Constitution." I served for 23 years under that oath, and I'm still committed to protecting the fundamental rights enshrined in the Bill of Rights, the other Amendments, and the Supreme Court decisions.
