Smith Statement on the Elevation of Cyber Command to a Combatant Command

Today, House Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA) released the following statement about the Department of Defense's elevation of Cyber Command to a unified combatant command:

"I am pleased that the Defense Department has elevated cyber command to the status of a unified combatant command, as they have been required to do by the law we passed last year. This change will enhance the U.S. military's ability to effectively employ our cyber capabilities."
