Womack Votes to Protect Life

Statement

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after House passage of H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2017. H.R. 7 codifies the Hyde Amendment, which bars the use of federal funds for abortions in Appropriations legislation and was first enacted in 1976:

"Human life is sacred, and as a staunch defender of life, I am proud to vote in favor of H.R. 7. After more than thirty years of this essential provision being included in annual appropriations bills, I welcome the opportunity to send this bill to the desk of a pro-life President who shares our dedication to protecting the unborn and ensure once and for all that tax dollars are not funding abortions."
