House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement in response to the Obama Administration's Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Oil and Gas Leasing Program for 2017-2022:
"The Obama Administration has spent eight years waging a job-killing war on American energy. While that makes today's OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Plan unsurprising, it is no less disappointing. I am looking forward to working with the Trump Administration to reverse the damage the current administration has done by unleashing our nation's abundance of energy resources and creating new American jobs--the time is now to put America on a path to energy independence and reestablish our nation as a global leader in energy."
