Today, Senator Kelly Ayotte released a misleading new ad showing the exact opposite of her real record in Washington of standing up for the corporate special interests who are funding her campaign at the expense of New Hampshire's families and small businesses.
In Washington, Ayotte has voted with her special interest backers to protect tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas while voting against tax breaks for small businesses that hire workers. Ayotte also voted to cut $2 billion from job training programs after the Koch Brothers' political arm urged her to, and she voted to eliminate the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training Grant that's funded innovative job training programs at New Hampshire's community colleges.
Ayotte has also voted four times against the Federal Paycheck Fairness Act, even saying that "we already have laws in place" to address pay discrimination. And while Ayotte's ad claims she's working as hard as Granite Staters, Ayotte's Republican Senate majority has worked the fewest days in 60 years.
"Despite her attempts to mislead Granite Staters with slick TV ads that show the exact opposite of her real Washington record, Kelly Ayotte cannot change the fact that she's stood with corporate special interests at the expense of New Hampshire's workers and small businesses," said Maggie for NH Communications Director Aaron Jacobs. "From siding with her corporate special interest backers to protect tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas to voting to slash funding for critical job training programs for New Hampshire workers, it's clear that Kelly Ayotte is only fighting to keep her own job, rather than supporting Granite State workers."
