Statement

Stuart, Fla. -- In response to the passage of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), which provides necessary waterway infrastructure, updated flood protection, and various environmental restoration projects, Brian Mast issued the following statement:

"I am beyond thrilled that these critical issues have received national recognition from Congress. The Water Resources Development Act is an important first step in the right direction towards repairing the Indian River Lagoon and restoring our Everglades. However, more needs to be done. In my District, our water is our livelihood. In Congress, I look forward to working with members on both sides of the aisle on further legislation to ensure we have clean water north of Lake Okeechobee, and convey more water South of Lake Okeechobee."
