Statement

Thank you! You helped make last night's historic win possible. Your support has fueled our grassroots campaign since Day 1, and we could never have achieved our goals without you.

I also want to thank my supportive family who has been my rock and with me every step of the way, my amazing staff and volunteers who poured their hearts and energy into the campaign, and the thousands of Delawareans who believed in our campaign and the notion of "doing different' in Congress. I entered this race because as I looked across our great state, I saw too many families barely surviving. We have urgent problems that need urgent solutions and we need people in Congress who will "do different" to fight for good-paying jobs, an increased minimum wage, college affordability, and won't be afraid to stand up to the Republicans who want to defund Planned Parenthood and put the corporate gun lobby before our safety.

I congratulate my opponents on running positive campaigns focused on the issues and that is what I intend to do leading up to the general election. We are taking our momentum forward together into November. I will not stop working hard until every vote is cast in November, and in Congress I won't stop working until every Delawarean has the opportunity they deserve to succeed. When I go to Washington, we ALL go to Washington.
