Issues: Oil and Gas Environment
Republicans in the Florida House just rammed through a big giveaway to the oil and gas industry. The bill specifically pre-empts local governments from banning fracking in their communities and exempts polluters from needing to disclose information to the public. It says local governments can't interfere with fracking projects, but frackers can have free rein to pollute our environment.
I'm outraged. This fracking free-for-all bill is headed to the Florida Senate, and I'm going to fight it every step of the way. And, when I get to Congress, we're going to BAN fracking on all our public lands.
