In his Second Inaugural Address, delivered as the Civil War was reaching its conclusion, Abraham Lincoln pledged to the nation to care for those who had bourn the cost of battle. Caring for those who sacrificed for our nation is a responsibility that we as a people must fulfill.
As a veteran, Ron is outraged at the way some of our veterans have been treated by the huge VA bureaucracy and has supported efforts in Congress to empower veterans and reform the VA. Ron cosponsored VA accountability legislation that holds wayward bureaucrats accountable for their mistreatment of our veterans and supports efforts to make the veteran's choice card work as intended. Ron has also been a leader within the Post- 9/11 Veterans Caucus and understands that there is much more that needs to be done for our veterans.
