Issue Position: Repeal Obamacare

Issue Position

ObamaCare represents all that is wrong with modern Washington: its text is voluminous and incomprehensible, it was rushed through the Congress by members who did not read it, and it was justified based on representations that were flatly false. Politicians like Nancy Pelosi guaranteed that Americans would be able to keep their plans, maintain access to their doctors, and pay $2500 less per year for insurance, yet they knew that such promises would not be fulfilled. Ron believes that ObamaCare is hurting Florida and must be repealed.

ObamaCare should be replaced with a series of reforms designed to lower costs for families and to save taxpayer money, such as by creating a refundable universal tax credit for health insurance purchases, using high risk pools to provide coverage options for individuals with preexisting conditions, allowing individuals to choose health insurance plans absent government coercion, prohibiting the IRS from having any involvement in the health care decisions of Americans, barring the use of taxpayer funds to bail out insurance companies, and block granting Medicaid to the states.
