Issue Position

We need to prepare our young people for the challenges of the global economy with innovative new approaches that put important choices in the hands of parents and students, not bureaucrats. Rep. Colleen Burton wants to expand school choice by giving parents the option to send their children to high-quality charter schools if they choose, and to reward the teachers and schools that excel in preparing their students for college and future careers. Colleen also recognizes the need to make Florida's excellent public universities and colleges more affordable for hard-working families and for our courageous men and women in uniform. By bringing transparency and accountability to our schools, Colleen believes that we can ensure better outcomes for students while saving millions for Florida's taxpayers.
