To whom much is given, much is expected. In 2011-2012, I had the honor of working for Pam Myhra in House District 40A at the State Capitol. During that time, I witnessed firsthand how prevalent waste and fiscal irresponsibility had become in our state. Fast forward to this year, Minnesota has had a major budget surplus. We continue to see our Governor and the Democrats in the House and Senate make efforts to increase taxes, fund wasteful pet projects, and drive small businesses and the middle class out of our local communities. It's not just dollars we're losing -- but families, loved ones, and neighbors. Understanding that real change happens at the local and state levels of government, I will fight to rein in spending beyond our means, reduce the tax burden that our district and state are facing, and bring fiscal sanity back to our local community. I believe in an economically-sensible district, state, and country. As your Representative, I will fight, claw and battle to ensure we:
Reduce tax burdens across the board on Minnesota families, entrepreneurs, and retirees -- with an emphasis on not only scaling back our 3rd-highest Corporate tax nationally, but also drastically cutting our crushing estate and gift taxes
Spur on individual economic development by eliminating State income tax
Rein in "pet projects", "viability studies", and stadium welfare in order to use state surpluses to pay down our tens of billions of dollars worth of state debt and provide tax relief to Minnesota families
