An educated child is a child that will eventually lead this state and even this country. I am a proud product of Wyoming's education system. I attended Dildine Elementary School, Carey Junior High School, and graduated from East High School. I was taught that hard work and dedication from teachers lead to an educated society. I have had many influential teachers in my life and without them, I would not be where I am today.
It is critical that we maintain our obligations to our education system. Our children are our future and if we do not invest into them, the return will not be there either. We must work closely, with the parents, teachers, principals, and school boards to provide the foundations needed to succeed in tomorrow's society.
Accountability is needed. We invest into our teachers and administrators. It is critical that the inputs match the outputs and outcomes of our education system. The accountability models need to be adjusted to account for today's teaching standards and give the teachers the latitude needed to educate our children to more than just a test.
