Issue Position: Building a Michigan to Last

Issue Position

For the last decade, Michigan has disinvested in our communities, natural resources, and people. In order to stay a place where people want to live, work, and raise a family, we need to restore our investments and build a Michigan to last.

Infrastructure for Today and Tomorrow

Our roads are some of the worst in the country, which not only leads to expensive car repairs, but also discourages economic growth. Finding a solution will put people to work and make Michigan a better destination to do business. For Downriver, one major area of focus will be finding the remaining funds to finally kickstart the grade separation project at Allen Road and Van Horn in Woodhaven.

Protecting Downriver's Natural Resources

As stewards of the Detroit River, Lake Erie, Huron River, and many other parks and natural resources, we have an obligation to continue caring for clean air, water, and wildlife.

Keep Young Michiganders Here

Young people are choosing where to work and live based on place and community. We must make Michigan cities safe, vibrant, and welcoming to everyone by investing in public transportation, revitalizing abandoned spaces, and protecting civil rights.
