Issue Position

After 5 long years, I was pleased to be the chief advocate for the passage of SB 16, which is the Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organization Act. As part of a series of public safety measures to pass the legislature this past year, none were more important than this piece of legislation. This bill is designed to give law enforcement and prosecutors the tools they need to combat organized crime, gangs and to go after the leaders and those financing the criminal organization. Plain and simple; Kansas will be much safer under this piece of legislation.
