Congressman Brian Babin Endorses Dr. John Fleming for US Senate

Dr. John Fleming, M.D., (R-LA) has received the endorsement of Congressman Brian Babin, (R-TX) in his 2016 bid for the open U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana

Congressman Babin said: "I am proud to endorse my friend and fellow House conservative John Fleming for the United States Senate. John is a leader in the fight to secure our border, has stood up to those in Washington -- including some in our own party - who want amnesty. He is a leading voice in support of energy security and energy jobs that both Texas and Louisiana depend on. What I like most is that John is willing and ready to speak his mind and stand up for our conservative principles. We need more trusted and proven conservatives like John in the United States Senate fighting for what makes America exceptional. He knows who he represents in Congress -- the conservative voters of Louisiana, not the Washington elite or special interest. America will have a brighter future with John in the U.S. Senate."

Dr. Fleming said: "It is an honor to receive this endorsement from Brian. He and I have fought side by side against this Administration's reckless EPA overreach and its dangerous immigration policies that put the safety and security of the American people at risk. I am proud to serve with patriots like Brian Babin and I look forward to campaigning with him in the weeks and months to come."

Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. Babin served as an airborne artilleryman in the Texas Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve and held various jobs to put himself through dental school.

Following his graduation from dental school, Dr. Babin was commissioned a Captain in the United States Air Force and stationed in Germany. In 1979, Dr. Babin returned to East Texas and settled in Woodville, where he opened a dental office and has played an active role in transforming East Texas into a solid Republican area.

Dr. Babin has served as Mayor of Woodville, on the Woodville City Council, and other civic positions such as Director and Vice President of the Tyler County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Babin was elected to Congress in 2014 and now serves as Chairman of the Space Subcommittee on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Here Dr. Babin has become a national leader on space policy and has helped lead efforts to bring transparency and accountability to the EPA.
