Issue Position

Every child deserves a quality education. I support public schools and believe that respect for the voices of teachers, parents, and students is of the utmost impartance. I will fight for:

*Stronger Public Education: Increased K-12 education funding, wider access to early childhood education, and ending the failed Education Achievement Authority.

*Charter School Accountability: Developing ways to hold charters accountable and strengthening charter school boards so they are representative of and responsive to the communities they serve.

*Fairer Assessments: Adopting holistic standards for student & teacher performance that measure student growth with more than just test scores.

*Commitment to Neighborhood Schools:
Promoting collaboration between schools, parents, and neighborhoods on opportunities for the students and neighborhoods.
