Deborah's dad served our nation as a doctor in the Air Force during the Vietnam era at Strategic Air Command (SAC) in Nebraska. She understands how important it is for us to take care of our servicemen and women.
Deborah knows that we have a responsibility to make sure our veterans receive the care and benefits they have earned. As a state legislator, she fought for veterans and their families by cracking down payday lending schemes targeting servicemembers. She also sponsored a uniform child custody law for military families.

In the U.S. Senate, she will work to improve our VA system, hold institutions that prey on veterans and their families accountable, and expand benefits to help our service members as they transition back into the civilian workforce. She will not tolerate a VA that doesn't live up to the high standard of care that our nation's veterans deserve.

Veterans sacrificed to fight for our freedom -- Washington has to hold up its end of the bargain and fight for them too.
