Michael supports smart security solutions that protect Americans here at home and our national security interests abroad.
Michael helped write and pass a bill out of the Senate that would add 19,000 Border Patrol Agents and make serious investments in border security and enforcement. And he introduced bipartisan legislation that says visitors to the United States must be screened before entering, after traveling to Middle East warzones like Iraq and Syria.
He opposed Democrats and Republicans when they passed across-the-board defense cuts, because he knew it would hurt our national security. Michael has consistently fought to ensure our armed forces have the resources they need, including voting to give them the tools they need on the battlefield, voting for military pay raises and increased benefits for service members and their families, and championing legislation to bolster the federal government's cybersecurity workforce.
