Issue Position

West supports education and the funding it takes for schools to be able to educate our children and grandchildren. West has a BA/Science degree and his wife has been a public school teacher for over 30 years; therefore, he knows firsthand what schools face. West has over a dozen family members in education ranging from pre-school teachers to university level and administration. West will support teachers by working to provide the resources needed and increase salaries in order to recruit and keep teachers in our state. West will do the hard work of looking forward to create excellence in LeFlore county schools:

No consolidations
Accountability for tax money spent
Curriculum that supports real jobs
Vocational training
Hi-technology opportunity for all students
Long-range stability of funding
Reviews and evaluations of measurable goals
Partnerships with businesses
