Transparency is essential to efficient, responsive and effective government. When the people are aware of all the workings of the government, they will put great pressure on the legislature or government entity to ensure that tax dollars are spent wisely.

In 2012, the Center for Public Integrity released their study of state government accountability. South Carolina received an "F" rating. This is shameful and has to be addressed.

Since being elected, I have worked to make South Carolina government honest, open and responsible. I voted for and co-sponsored many bills that address these issues.
