Issue Position

When elected, I will ensure that the per pupil funding formula is reconfigured in order to increase school funding, specifically for underfunded Clark County Schools. Teachers need relevant, effective resources and our students need expanded career and technical programming. I will fight against school vouchers and tax abatements, and other legislation that seeks to destroy our public schools. I will work for the removal of Common Core and the excessive amount of standardized testing our students are subjected to. I will fight to change the Nevada Educator Performance Framework until student performance is completely removed from all calculations. When elected, I will strive for teachers and staff to earn competitive wages, to reinstate health care and retirement benefits that have been cut, and working conditions that attract and retain teachers.
