Carol supports the right to unionization and collective bargaining in both the private and the public sectors. Carol supports living wages that will permit working people to lead decent lives above the poverty level without needing public assistance such as food stamps. The present state minimum wage is insufficient to meet this goal. It needs to be increased, and Carol supports the proposal to raise Illinois minimum wage to $10 as a good first step toward achieving the goal of living wage jobs.
