Kifowit does not think it's fair that property taxes continue to skyrocket even as home values drop and families struggle to keep their homes. She introduced legislation to freeze property taxes when the value of the homes decline. Kifowit has voted 12 times to freeze property taxes, unfortunately not enough votes were cast to pass the bill, but she will continue to fight to keep property taxes from rising.

To further help give homeowners a break, Kifowit opposes any measure to shift the burden of public employee pension costs on to local homeowners through property tax increases.
