Education

As a parent, I know we all want the best education for our children so that they are well-prepared for college. We are lucky to live in an area with well-funded, high quality schools. Unfortunately, that is not the case in the whole state. While our schools are mostly funded by property taxes, they do receive a small percentage of funding from the state.

The current state education funding system is inequitable; in fact it is the second most regressive system in the U.S. in that richer districts receive more state money than the districts with more need and higher poverty rates.
