Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) issued the following statement in response to President Obama's transgender bathroom guidance:

"President Obama's transgender bathroom guidance is yet another example of this administration with a solution in search of a problem. Despite having visited schools across the Third District, the guidance from the Departments of Justice and Education is the first time I've heard of this being an issue in Arkansas. With so many issues facing our country, the Obama Administration should not focus its energy on transgender bathrooms and bullying our states and our schools by threatening to withhold Department of Education funding. There is simply no need for a blanket federal policy that covers every school bathroom in America."
