Statement from Governor Hassan on Signing HB 1349

Statement

Date: May 27, 2016
Location: Concord, NH

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing House Bill 1349, relative to the Merrimack County Superior Court:

"To ensure that Granite Staters in the region can access justice in a safe environment, it is critical to replace the outdated and unsafe Merrimack County Courthouse, which is why we came together across party lines to provide a much-needed new courthouse through last year's capital budget. We also recognized that keeping the courthouse in downtown Concord is a priority for the city, its businesses and its economy, and House Bill 1349 will allow us to do just that. I thank city and county officials and legislators from both parties for their work on this important legislation, and I am proud to sign this bipartisan bill into law so that citizens will be able to access justice in a safe environment in downtown Concord."
