Issue Position: Work For Improved Education

Issue Position

I am focused on resolving the needs of Kentucky's school systems and to reduce overcrowded classrooms. Teachers and local schools need the power to set curricula to best serve their students. Improving the quality of our education will improve the employability of our future workforce and encourage a thriving economy. Five hot issues that our school systems face include, but are not limited to:

Controversial Common Core Standards
The Kentucky Teacher's Retirement System (KTRS)
Poorer School Districts and a Lack of Funds
College Readiness and Global Competition
Teacher Training and Classroom Support

When it comes down to it, I support local control of local schools and will work to provide our children with the tools they need to reach academic achievement.
