Issue Position: Standing Up for Farmers

Issue Position

While our President jets around the world pushing his job-killing "climate agenda" his policies are hurting Missouri farmers and holding back our businesses.

My family hails from a proud farming tradition. This is my agenda as Missouri's next Attorney General for protecting our farmers, and our families from Obama's climate change crusade:

First, sue to stop Obama's "Clean Power Plan" in court. It's unconstitutional. And it will drive energy prices in Missouri through the ceiling. We can stop it in court, and we will.

Second, vigorously oppose the EPA's "waters of the United States" rule. The EPA's attempt to regulate every drop of water that falls on farmers' land far exceeds the agency's authority. This power grab can also be stopped in court.

Third, fight any further soil dumping by the U.S. Army Corps into the Missouri River for habitat restoration. If Missouri farmers dumped that much dirt in the river, they'd be in prison. The Army Corps' actions have severely harmed farmers and the river. Enough is enough.

I know something about fighting the federal government in court. As your next Attorney General, I will fight for Missouri -- all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, if that's what it takes.
