U.S. leadership is critical to keeping the peace and advancing freedom around the world, but to defend our interests successfully, we must have close cooperation with our friends and allies.  We have no greater friend than Israel, and the U.S.-Israeli partnership is at the heart of our desire for a peaceful and stable future Middle East.

I oppose the agreement with Iran because it will not make our nation safer and does not prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, the first and foremost requirement of any agreement.

We have a choice, and it is not between this deal and war. The choice is between keeping the sanctions that are working in place, or a deal that paves the path to a nuclear Iran. I choose strong sanctions and a safer America.

As Russia becomes more active, we must work closely with our European partners, particularly through NATO, as a check against Vladimir Putin's aggression.  And as Asia becomes increasingly important to global security in the 21st century, the best guarantee of security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region is the cultivation of political, economic and military ties with the democracies of the area.  Together, we can preserve the peace and promote prosperity for the benefit of all Americans and other freedom loving people around the world.

Border Security -- In order to secure our nation, we have to secure our borders. I believe we need to start by enforcing our current immigration laws. We also need to provide customs and border protection and our border patrol with the manpower and technology necessary to ensure that the border is secure.
