Issue Position

I was homeschooled through the third grade, attended publicly funded schools from fourth grade through my sophomore year of college and attended a private college after that. I understand the benefits and obstacles they each face. As representative,

*I will introduce a bill to repeal Iowa Core and return education to local control.

*I favor teaching students skills in high school as opposed to training them to take a test. I believe this makes it very difficult on teachers because they need the kids to pass, and it also puts pressure on the students.

*I am also against Islamic indoctrination in Iowa public schools.

*I will also support efforts to reinstitute biblical school prayer.

*I support a homeschool tax credit for those choosing to educate their children that way.
