Duckworth Statement on Brussels Terrorist Attacks

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth issued the following statement regarding today's terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium:

"I send my deepest condolences to the victims and families affected by today's terrorist attacks in Brussels, which were an affront to all those around the globe horrified by such needless violence. These extremists want nothing more than for the civilized world to react by cowering in fear, but I know we are better than that.

"America stands shoulder-to-shoulder with our allies around the world, ready once again to remind our enemies of the global community's strength and resilience in the face of such unfathomable evil. While we must remain steadfast in our resolve to hunt down terrorists wherever they hide as well as defeat them on the battlefield, we cannot abandon our values in pursuit of that effort. The America that I fought to protect leads with strength, not fear."
